From sports and live music to vintage markets and spooky bus tours, September is shaping up to be anything but boring.
Welcome back to another joyful – or dreadful, depending on how you view it – academic year! With classes in full swing, it’s officially back-to-school season, and the start of a new school year brings plenty of events and activities to check out. To help you track them down and make the most of the month, we’ve compiled a list of things to do in Regina this September.
Friday Nights Classic Car Show
When: Every Friday evening until Sept. 25, 5:00 to 9:30 p.m.
Where: Southland Mall parking lot
Price: Free for spectators and participants
If you have a special vehicle or simply love looking at automobiles – from vintage to modern cars – the Friday Nights Classic Car Show offers a display every Friday night until Sept. 25.
Regina Farmers’ Market
When: Wed. and Sat. until Oct. 10, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: 2190 12th Avenue, City Square, Regina
Price: Free entry
Fresh produce? Local food? Sign us up. The Regina Farmers’ Market is here till Oct. 10 to serve the community with fresh food before the winter hits. Make sure to check it out at Pat Fiacco Plaza, while you still can!
Back & Body Hurts
When: Sept. 8-28, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (only on weekdays)
- Reception: Sept. 8, 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Where: Fifth Parallel Gallery at the U of R
Price: Free and open to the public
This September, U of R’s own Fifth Parallel Gallery brings together a cross-disciplinary exhibition by Yvonne Niegas, Bree Tabin, and Ciara Trapp. This exhibition is meant to challenge the views of those who perceive art as something “fun or easy-going.” Go check it out to support the U of R arts students.
GMS Queen City Marathon
When: Sept. 11 to 13
- Sept. 11, 8 a.m. start (time varies by event)
- Sept. 12, 8 a.m. start (time varies by event)
- Sept. 13, 6:30 a.m. (time varies by event)
Where: Conexus Arts Centre (main hub for race package pick-up)
Price: Varies by event
The 26th annual Queen City Marathon is taking place in Regina, featuring events such as the Family 5K, the Night Owl 5K, and a full 42.2K run, walk, and wheelchair race. There’s a selection of events for fitness enthusiasts of all kinds.

Queen City Antique & Vintage Market
When: Sept. 11, 12 to 8 p.m. and Sept. 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Caledonian Curling Club, 2225 Sandra Schmirler Way
Price: $5 for both days; children 12 and under are free
The Queen City Antique & Vintage Market is coming to Regina this fall with a
selection of vendors and items from décor to collectibles. Old is gold, so make sure to check it out!
Women’s Soccer Game vs. Lethbridge
When: Sept. 12, 7 p.m.
Where: U of R field
Price: Free for U of R students; $5.95 for youth from 6-17 years old; $13.71 for adults.
The women’s soccer team takes on Lethbridge on Sept. 12. If you were watching the World Cup this summer, be sure to catch some local soccer on Sept. 12 and support the Cougars.
YQR Haunts Bus Tours
When: Sept. 17, 7 to 9 p.m.
Where: Government House
Price: $66.66 plus fees
It’s never too early to celebrate Halloween or have a scary night out. If you want to learn about Regina’s paranormal history, this tour might be for you!
Campion Coffee House
When: Sept. 18, 3 to 4 p.m
Where: Campion Student Commons at Campion College
Price: Free to all
Come grab a cup of coffee and engage in a relaxing afternoon of music, poems, and general performances at Campion. If you would like to perform, contact Campion and fulfil your wish.

Prairie Conservation: birds, rangelands, and biodiversity

Happening at the Archer Library, this event explores prairie conservation through talks featuring speakers, conservation organizers, and an ambassador owl. If nature, birds, or
conservation speak to you, this one might be worth checking out.
Men’s Basketball vs. Brandon

Where: Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport
Price: Free to all
Cougar Classic in play! Come support the men’s basketball team as they take on Brandon University.
Slow Leaves w/MJ Meehan
When: Sept. 24, 8:00 to 10:30 p.m.
Where: The Artesian, 2627 13th Avenue
Price: $25 plus tax in advance; $30 at the door
Music, music, music! Catch Winnipeg’s Slow Leaves with Regina’s own MJ Meehan at the Artesian for a folky fall night.
