URSU election results announced
Devon Peters wins second term; Yes side wins U-Pass referendum
The 2015 University of Regina Students’ Union (URSU) election results are in.
Incumbent President Devon Peters beat his opponent Daniella Zemlak to win a second term.
Peters won 1626 votes to Zemlak’s 1177.
The Yes side of the referendum question, of whether or not URSU should negotiate a universal bus pass (U-Pass) with the city, also won 1520 to 1278.
The new URSU executive, who take their positions starting this summer, are as follow:
President: Devon Peters
VP Student Affairs: Jason Gagnon
VP Operations and Finance: Matthew Mutschler
VP External Affairs: Lynn Barber
URSU’s Chief Returning Officer sent these results to the Carillon. The results are yet to be made official by an URSU board meeting.
Vice-President – Student Affairs was won by Jason Gagnon, over Emily Barber and Jermain McKenzie.
Lynn Barber won Vice-President- External Affairs over Maria Aman and Brooklyn Orban. Barber beat Aman 923-794.
Matthew Mutschler wins the uncontested seat of VP Operations and Finance 1633 for Yes and 237 for no.
