Have you been looking to try your hand at writing creatively and want free feedback, or have you been writing for quite a while and want an easy way to get published?
Bringing back to life a tradition from the old days of the Carillon, the Arts & Sports section will now publish creative work whenever there is room on the page to do so.
Reviewed and edited by section editor Emma McGill, you can send poetry, short fiction, and creative non-fiction off to artsandsports@carillonregina.com as long as your work follows the guidelines specified below.
POETRY
Poems can be in any form and up to two full pages. Form may be altered upon layout at
the discretion of the editorial board.
SHORT FICTION
Short fiction can be in any genre and must be between 500 and 1,000 words. Please do
not exceed the word count.
CREATIVE NON-FICTION
Creative non-fiction can be biographical or autobiographical and must be between 500
and 1,000 words. Please do not exceed the word count.
All work must be submitted in 12 point Book Antiqua font. Fiction and non-
fiction should be single-spaced. Please submit your work in a Word document. In your
submission, please include a short bio, or at least specify your year and area of study.
We will not accept any piece that is AI-generated or work that is ableist,
misogynistic, racist, or queerphobic.
All those whose work is accepted must sign a contributor agreement form. If
your work is accepted for publication, you will receive compensation. You must be a
registered student at the University of Regina to submit work. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
